Matthew Gipson is a board certified, fellowship trained Interventional Radiologist who performs minimally invasive image-guided procedures in the metro Denver area.  He received his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and graduated medical school at New York Medical College.  This was followed by a medical internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Denver and went on to complete his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was Chief Resident.  He then returned to Denver to complete his fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Prior to joining RIA, Dr. Gipson practiced Interventional Radiology at the University of Colorado Hospital, where he also served as Assistant Professor for the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

After completing his board certification with the American Board of Radiology in 2010 he received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Interventional Radiology in 2012.  Dr. Gipson’s has broad experience in all interventional techniques with a special interest includes cutting-edge treatment options for patients with liver disease and cancer — regularly performing both regional therapy with radioembolization and chemoembolization of the liver, as well as local therapies including radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation, and microwave ablation of tumors in the liver and kidneys.  He is a published author, speaker, and member of several professional organizations.

Dr. Gipson is married with two young children and enjoys all that Colorado has to offer including hiking, cycling, fishing and above all else, skiing.
